FAQs about vTREX 2020

What exactly is vTREX … and why should I attend?

It’s our virtual Travel Exchange. This online conference is where NTA members will gather to gain information and strategies, share ideas and solutions, and hold buyer/seller meetings. As one tour operator told us, “I can’t see where it could ever get any easier or cheaper to have access to so many business opportunities.”

When does the early bird deadline end for sellers?

The discounted registration rate of $495 is good through Sept. 30. After this date the rate increases to $595—still a bargain for this must-attend show.

Will vTREX offer prescheduled business appointments?

Absolutely! NTA pioneered the concept of one-on-one business appointments, and that concept has been copied by many other shows over the years. In post-TREX surveys, members always tell us they value one-on-one meetings, so we wouldn’t dream of excluding appointments from vTREX.

If I’m a tour operator or travel agent and would like for several people from my company to attend, are there discounts for multiple registrations?

We’re so glad you asked! Any tour company or travel agency that registers one full-book appointment-taking buyer at the regular price ($75) can register:

  • additional full appointment-takers for free
  • partial-book appointment-takers for $50
  • non-appointment-takers for $125

How will appointment scheduling work?

We will use the same appointment-scheduling system you’re familiar with. You’ll submit your requests between Oct. 6 and 20. Then the system will make matches, and it will be closed until Direct Requests begin on Oct. 27.

I heard about something called Super Appointments. What the heck are they?

Super Appointments are longer, 10-minute appointments that are based on buyer requests. These will take place on “bonus” Friday, Nov. 20.

What online platform will you use for vTREX?

It’s a question we can’t answer right now, and that’s actually a good thing. We are working with our longtime A/V provider, M squared OnStage, and they are researching and testing all the platforms out there; there are a ton of them, with more being developed every week. M squared will find the best option—or they might create a hybrid platform—that will best work for vTREX. Our show is unique, so a cookie-cutter platform just won’t work. We expect to make an announcement in early September, and we’ll hold vTREX 101 sessions to walk you through the technology in October.

Will you have Sales Missions and Best Pitch Presentations this year?

Of course! These sessions were wildly popular when they were introduced at Travel Exchange in Fort Worth, and they will be held on “bonus” Monday, Nov. 16. Please visit this page to learn how to participate.

What’s a Bruncher?

In a normal year, these would be called a Luncheon, but hey … it’s 2020. So, on the schedule, you’ll see a Bruncher each day of vTREX, and it could be Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner, depending on where in the world you are located. They’ll be all-attendee sessions with networking, entertainment, and education—all rolled into one!

Are there sponsorship opportunities for vTREX to help promote my organization?

Yes, and our account executives would be happy to tell you about the extremely cost-effective options. We know times are tight, and we’ve come up with some great opportunities that will fit any budget. To learn more, see our page on the benefits of sponsorships.
